Tonight Aaron, Ellis, Nick, and two landscape students, Will and George, went to a steakhouse type restaurant by the beach. I ate chicken. Thank goodness. It’s the first time I’ve not been hungry since I came here… Between tiny convenience stores with questionable inventory, an overwhelming open air market, and lack of a “normal” grocery store, Ellis and I have been barely patching food together for the past 5 days. Eating out doesn’t guarantee great results, either, when you don’t know what you’re ordering or how much of it you’ll receive.
Ellis found the grocery store, though, so it looks like my economy-and-confusion induced starvation diet of oranges and kiwi-flavored yogurt is coming to an end. Huzzah!
Furthermore, IKEA opens tomorrow, so I can get some sort of mattress pad. Huzzah! Last night I had a dream I was sleeping in a Rubbermaid box. The foam pad I’m sleeping on has given up on life.
Excited for orientation tomorrow!
